The Invermere soccer club took part in the very popular Three Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell this past weekend. The U-17 boys team had the best placing, finishing first in their pool to qualify for the gold medal game. After a hard-fought 60 minutes of play they lost to Kalispell 2-1 and went home with the silver medal. In all a fantastic tournament for the team.
The U-17 girls also played in a very tough pool. They tied one game and lost two. The U-14 boys faced very strong teams from bigger cities, managing to win one game, they played hard but lost the other two games.
The U-13 girls, though losing to Kalispell, Sandpoint and Whitefish, played hard and won their last game against Cranbrook.
The U-12 boys were unable to win, but this young team that just started playing competitively gained valuable experience for future tournaments.
