Those following the vote counting in the Shuswap Band Office were very emotional after the results declared Barbara Cote

Shuswap chief turfed

Two out of three council members were replaced after the Shuswap First Nation's general election

 

Barbara Cote, Timothy Eugene, and Rosalita Pascal are the three new council members of the Shuswap First Nation.

The former council of Paul Sam, Alice Sam, and Barbara Cote was recently under national scrutiny following the revelation of select salaries to be in excess of the Prime Minister.

The final count was very close. Paul Sam and Alice Sam both received a substantial number of votes, along with other candidates Dorothy Warbrick, Suzanne Thomas, and Pauline Eugene.
