Sylvia Louise Atwood
July 28, 1920 – August 10, 2010
Sylvia Louise Atwood passed away peacefully with family at her side on August 10, 2010 in Invermere, B.C.
Sylvia was born July 28, 1920 in Hazlet Saskatchewan to Rudolph and Violet Stock, sister to Kay and Alfred. Her life went on to include four years in the Air Force where she was an ambulance attendant and a cook. Sylvia married Logan Atwood and moved to Radium Hot Springs where she ran the first bed & breakfast in the valley at the Upper Ranch. Sylvia worked for many years at Jessie’s Restaurant where she became famous for her fantastic cinnamon buns. Sylvia was a 48 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and very active with the Radium Seniors. She was well known and loved for her infectious laugh and will be missed by many.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Columbia House for all their help and care; and to everyone who attended the celebration of her life at the Edgewater Hall and the luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion, where many funny and meaningful stories were told.
Thank you also to George MacLean for taking Sylvia on her last ride with his horse and wagon to her final resting place.
Preceded in death by her husband Logan Atwood, she is survived by three sons; Rene (Val), Randy (Debbie), Lance (Michelle), sister Kay, brother Alfred and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
