Raymond L. Gillespie
September 3, 1927 – January 16, 2011
GILLESPIE – Raymond L. Ray was born and raised in Melfort, Saskatchewan. During his 32 year career in the oil industry Ray lived in nine cities and five provinces. He began his career as a truck driver with BA Oil, which became Gulf Oil, Pacific 66 and Petro Canada, from which he retired as the General Manager, Sales Division, (West) in 1983. Upon retirement, Ray and Dot lived in Radium Hot Springs, B.C., for 24 years, spending winters first in Hemet, CA, and later in Mesa, AZ. Kelowna was Ray’s last destination, moving there with Dot in 2007. Ray enjoyed spending his leisure time curling, golfing and getting together to play cards with friends and family. Sadly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy, daughters Marcia (Peggy), Susan (Ray), Patti (Don), Colleen (Cam), sons Bill and John and brother Jim (Bev). He will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Evelyn Latham and grandson Alex Gillespie.
