Lil passed away peacefully on June 10, 2011 at the Invermere Hospital. She was born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Debolt and Grande Prairie, Alberta. After meeting and marrying a young hockey player, Ted, her life took an adventurous turn. They spent several years in the Northwest Territories at various Hudson Bay posts. They then moved on to Edmonton, Lethbridge and Calgary where she started her career at Atco Trailers. Lil and Ted retired to Columere Park in 1988. It was here that she could really get involved with her favourite projects. She became a member of the quilting club, the book club and spent as many hours as she could in her yard passionately tending each and every flower.
She will be sadly missed by her family Liz (Gerry), Gordon (Dianne), Ellen, Eileen (Fred), 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Many thanks and love go to the special home care girls who became like extended family; the nursing staff at the Invermere Hospital and especially Dr. Louw for his wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held June 18, 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Trinity Church, Invermere, B.C. An open house in Lil’s garden at her home in Columere Park will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
