1948 – 2010

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Dorothy Louise O’Brien announces her passing at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on July 20, 2010 at 62 years of age.

Dot was born on June 18, 1948 in Toronto, Ontario and later moved to the Columbia Valley where she was well known for her home-style cooking and sense of humour. Many of you will remember her and Harvey from Dot’s Diner in Canal Flats where she served up many meals over the last couple of years to people from all over the country. It was her passion and she will be sadly missed.

Dot is survived by her loving husband Harvey Ferguson; her daughter Carla Guenard (Kevin); grandchildren: Zachery and Emily; and sisters: Connie Spehar (Slavko) and Joanne Campbell (Randy). Dot will be missed by many other family and friends also. She was predeceased by her parents Irene and Howard Speers.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held for Dot.
