Dot passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Lodge and will be lovingly remember by daughters Betty Boose (Tom, Union Bay), Audrey Donahue (Burns Lake) and daughter/granddaughter Charlette Frizzell (Mike, Ottawa) as well as sister Alice Futa, three great-grandchildren, nieces and their families and numerous friends.
Dot was born at home beside the Kootenay River in the East Kootenay Valley and could be found creek and river fishing at every opportunity. She also enjoyed playing cards and berry picking which she continued after moving to Union Bay in 1995.
There will be no service but instead family will be at home (5477 Tappin St., Union Bay) on Sat., Sept. 5, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. to share memories with friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Care Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.
“Gone Fishing”
Is a catchy phrase
That is heard around the land
When Nature beckons big and small
To enjoy her outstretched hand.
