Water meter installation in Windermere is about 50 per cent complete, according to the Regional District of East Kootenay. The district says it has now installed more than 270 meters in the community.

Installations are scheduled to run until mid August, and can be booked by calling 1-800-667-4387 or visiting watermeterappt.com.

Currently, water meter installations are free, but once the summer installation program ends, homeowners will have to cover the purchase and installation cost of the meters themselves.
