The Invermere Fire and Rescue Service responded to a call in Wilmer at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 20. The roof of the adjoining building next to the historic Delphine Lodge caught on fire. Fire Chief Roger Ekman said that the fire came from the chimney, and was contained to the roof itself, rather than the attic. Damages are estimated at approximately $60,000 in order to replace the roof. There were no reported injuries.
