At about noon on Friday, October 12, Columbia Valley RCMP and Windermere Fire Rescue responded to a single-vehicle accident on Hwy 93/95, just inside Windermere at the crest of the hill near Copper Point Resort.
According to Columbia Valley RCMP Cpl. Brent Ayers, the two occupants of the vehicle were out of the vehicle by the time rescue services arrived, and no major injuries were reported. Both were taken to Invermere Hospital for observation and were released shortly after.
Ayers said that it appeared that the motorhome had swerved to avoid a herd of deer after cresting the hill, entered the ditch, and upon re-entering the roadway the driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle.
