The Regional District of East Kootenay is still taking nominations for its Volunteers of the Year awards.

Each year six awards are given out by RDEK, one for each electoral area in the district.

Nominees must live in an electoral area in the RDEK and “make voluntary contributions to the spirit, culture or people of the community.” Nomination forms are available at rdek.bc.ca, at the Columbia Valley RDEK office on Athalmer Road and through various community associations.

Nominations close July 29. Winners are notified in September and invited to an awards dinner
