The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is fast approaching and plans are underway for a repeat successful crowd of participants. As part of the festivities, the Cancer Society sets up a tent called the “Smart Shop” which promotes the society’s programs, services and cancer prevention tips.
We will be manning the tent from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. during the evening of June 11 David Thompson Secondary School. Activities focus on the five national priorities: funding research, primary prevention, advocacy, information and support services.
Please visit the Smart Shop and take advantage of the available information pamphlets and brochures. Several draws for prizes will be chosen at 10:30 p.m. You do not need to be present to win so visit our tent any time during the evening and fill out a form with your name and phone number. We will also have “goodie bags” to hand out to the first 50 people who visit our tent and fill out a draw ticket. Our volunteers will be available to assist you with any questions you may have and we encourage you to join us in our fight to conquer cancer.
