A portion of 14th Street between 4th and 7th Avenue will close to all but local traffic on the afternoon of July 22, during this year’s Bill McIntosh Memorial Bull Riding in the Rockies event.

District of Invermere councillor and Coumnbia Valley Rockies Hockey Club president Al Miller says  cattle and horse trailers will likely be parking on the street and organizers want to close the road for safety reasons. The road may also close in advance of the day, when participants are unloading and setting up at the venue.

The event will take place on two vacant lots south of the Invermere Curling Club.
