The art exhibitions continue at effusion art gallery. This series of exhibits and demonstrations will continue throughout the summer.

On Saturday, July 2, effusion will be presenting their “Columbia Valley Reflections” exhibition, which will showcase the works of three talented women: Virginia Boulay, Lucie Bause and Connie Geerts.

Bause and Geerts will be on-hand during the exhibit for live art demonstrations and to talk with guests about their work, lives and love of art.

Boulay is a graphic designer, illustrator and painter. She expresses her passion for the natural world, and her love of colour and design, through her art.

“Landscape painting for me is a direct connection to my inner feelings and desires for peace and solitude – something I only experience when I am alone in nature,” said Boulay in an official press release for the event.

“The seasons, the creatures, the steadfastness of our earth move me, the many gifts it offers and is humbled by its mystery,” added Boulay.

Bause’s artwork is mainly nature-based, featuring landscapes and environments.

She is continuing to explore various aspects of these nature themes as she continues forward with her artistry.

Bause finds a sense of freedom, rejuvenating energy and inspiration in natural landscapes, be they coastlines, prairies or mountains.

Geerts, who works with acrylic paints and kiln-formed glass, shows her appreciation of nature and passion for colour through her work.

“The iconic nature of trees, as a symbol of life and growth, continue to inspire me,” said Geerts in an official press release. “They serve as a vehicle to express my love of colour play.”

“It’s really educational,” said Lynette Lightfoot of effusion art gallery.

“Being able to watch the artists’ demonstrations really gives you an appreciation for the time and effort they put into their work.

“Watching the demonstration and then looking at a painting or other artwork really makes you see and realize just how much goes into what you’re viewing.”
