Golfing on the lake returns

This year will be a charm for the more adventurous golfers who have always wanted to take on a challenge on the frozen water of Lake Windermere.

This year will mark the another great chance for guests and residents to take part in the Snow Golf Tourney which will be held on February 5.

Registration for the event will happen at 11 a.m. at Ray Ray’s Beach Pub and golfers will start swinging with a shotgun start at noon.

The annual golf extravaganza is hosted through the hard work of the Kinsmen Club of Windermere Valley. Last year over 80 competitors walked, slid and one group was even dragged around the course on a homemade sofa sled. (see photo above)

According to one of the organizers, Steve Kuffler, the day of golfing on the ice is “Guaranteed a day you will never forget.”

All people who wish to take part in the golf tournament must be 19 years of age or over.

Each team will be made up of four players at a cost of $30 per person and participants are reminded there are a limited number of tickets available.
