A fundraiser barbecue will be taking place at Invermere’s Home Hardware on March 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is to raise money for Tierra DD Animals Canada.

The fundraiser is being put on by the collaborative efforts of Carol Dobson, Cindy Hopper, Amber Schick and Glenda Stoski.

“I’ve been helping animals forever,” said Dobson, dog control officer for Invermere for 15 years. “The money is going towards helping animals, feeding them, and giving them shelter.”

The goal is also to help those pet owners who may be in need and require assistance to help take care  of and feed their pets. This is a first-time event.
