Winter can be cold in the valley, and that’s why Mom’s Upholstery in Athalmer is once again holding a coat drive to help area residents in need. Beginning in mid-November, donations of coats, gloves, scarves, boots and other winter apparel can be dropped off at Mom’s Upholstery, located at 455 Borden Street in Invermere. All items should be clean and in good condition. Snow suits should be in child or teen sizes. This campaign follows the success of last year’s coat drive, which brought in 90 adult sized coats and 50-plus kids’ coats, along with hundreds of other winter apparel items. Items which are not taken are donated to either the women’s auxiliary or shelters in Calgary.
