Pink Shirt Day is February 25, 2015. Anyone and everyone – it’s an inclusive event, after all – is encouraged to wear pink to work and share their photos of messages of ‘anti-bullying’ on social media with the hashtag #PinkShirtDay.
“We know the Internet can be a pretty negative place, and that this negativity can lower self-esteem and create bullying behaviour,” the organizers of Pink Shirt Day said, in a press release issued Wednesday.
In addition to the expected photo sharing on Twitter and Facebook, with the hashtag already ID’s above, Coast Capital Savings has also said it will donate $1 to the cause every time someone uses #PinkItForward on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
Here are the steps, if you want to participate (via PinkShirtDay.ca):
1. During the weeks leading up to and on Pink Shirt Day – February 25th, post a photo of someone special on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. It could be a friend, teammate, colleague, family member, classmate or even someone you just met.
2. Add the caption below and fill in the blanks with their name and why they’re so awesome:
